Shepparton Bird Expo & Sale

Our Annual bird expo & sale is held at the Shepparton Showgrounds, Archer Street, on the third Sunday in May. Once again it will be in the large multi-purpose pavilion.

The expo caters for Australian and foreign birds, with the exception of poultry and domestic pigeons.

The Minister for Agriculture has now provided an Exemption from prosecution in relation to non-native species, so bird sales can now resume their normal format.

Along with birds for sale there is a complete range of avian products including feeds & supplements, toys, medicines, leg rings, breeding & carry boxes, etc.

A canteen is available.

The expo will open to the public at 9:30am to allow time to look at the commercial sites and the bird display. The sale of birds commences at 11:00am and closes at 2:00pm.

Entry fee is $5, children under 13 are free.

Codes of Practice

Agriculture Victoria's Code of Practice for the Housing of Caged Birds applies at all bird sales in the State of Victoria.
All sellers must also comply with the Victorian Avicultural Council's Code of Practice for Bird Sales.
Only one species of bird is permitted per cage.
All wire cages are not acceptable for use at a bird sale.
