Friday the 8th July Michael Lee was our guest speaker. The presentation was on Aviculture in India, featuring rooftop Aviaries, commercial breeders, small hobbyist’s. Not just Macaws, but toucans, Eclectus giant horn bills and more. It was great to have a guest speaker face to face again. For those that missed it another great presentation by Michael.
The committee hope all members have had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We have our first meeting for the year this Friday the 14th which will be a BBQ, (to use up all the meat from our Christmas break-up). We need someone to bring a BBQ for the night so we can cook the meat, I have a spare 9kg bottle that I can bring if that makes it easier. Can you please let me know ASAP if you can help out with a BBQ.
Hope to see you all there.

It is with much sadness that I advise the passing of Jim Ray. Jim has been in care for nearly two years. Thoughts and prayers to Glenys and her family. RIP Jim.
A great send off today for a gentleman of our club. jim_ray.pdf

Hello Members, our Christmas Break-up is at the Presidents house in Congupna on the 12th December at midday. The club will supply lunch ie meat, salads and a few sweets. You just need to bring your drinks a chair and your singing voice for the carols. For catering purposes we need to know how many are coming.

August was a quiet night due to the ongoing restrictions with Covid. Despite the lower than normal numbers what a great night was held with Guest Speaker, our very own seed merchant Ian Hendy. Ian was very nervous but did an excellent job with a lot of discussion over feeding our birds. A lot of information from Ian in regards to the different seeds and mixes he supplies.
July's meeting was the first meeting since the passing of Carl Wallden. Mark Godwill did a fantastic eulogy that could have lasted all night with some great stories about Carl, Mark has approved me posting a copy on our facebook page for all that were unable to attend the meeting. I also plan to catch up with Barb and give her a copy. RIP Carl Wallden.
Great News. After months of discussions I am pleased to announce that we will be back at our regular meeting place, the Senior Citizens Hall in Welsford St Shepparton from April. Special thanks to Ron Hicks and the owners of Shepparton South Plaster for the use of their office for Feb/March There will be a COGS Covid plan in place.

Bus Trip to Moonlit
What a fantastic day trip organised by The Avicultural Society of Aust. Members of the GV Branch left Uncle Bruce's at 6.30am and headed to Seymour for the first pickup. We then went to Yea for a quick aviary visit and breakfast of egg and bacon muffins. Next stop Moonlit Sanctuary where we meet up with fellow birdos that we haven’t seen for well over a year. A great behing the scenes tour followed by a nice BBQ lunch. We then headed off to our next three stops to have a look at some great private collections. We refuelled and headed back to Yea where we were confronted with Pork Rolls and Pork Crackle washed down with some beverages overlooking some stunning veiws over the hills. I have learnt that if you want to be looked after visit a Kiwi, thanks heaps Allison Baird what an absolute feast you put on for us all, and to Matt Baird for being there. Thanks to John Ria Pope and the ASA for organising such a great day and the GV Branch commitee for organising the trip from the bush. Its fantastic that we were able to do this after the last long year from hell. Special thanks again to Allison Baird and Matt Baird for supplying the meat for the BBQ and for our breakfast and tea brilliant effort.
